WELCOME

WineGlass Farm has been dedicated to the equine business for over 40 years. As natural athletes WineGlass horses have well rounded, cross-discipline backgrounds allowing them to excel in events ranging from polocrosse, distance riding, dressage, jumping, law enforcement and even some calf roping and reining! Our foundation mares have been performance tested with a minimum of 500 distance riding miles. Soundness, trainability, willing attitude and competitive ability are genetically determined - all criteria we have used to select our broodmares. Linda loves the Shagya-Arabian by Huber

The addition of our Shagya-Arabian stallion *BUDAPEST in 1990 complimented our proven performance foundation mares. *BUDAPEST brought excellent bone, frame, movement and personality to the WineGlass program. Today *BUDAPEST progeny offer the same qualities of toughness, stamina, rideability and courage that made the Shagya-Arabian horses admired and desired so many years ago on the famous military stud farms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. *BUDAPEST is one of the few Shagya-Arabian stallions in the U.S. to have easily completed the stallion performance standards established by the International Shagya-Arabian Society (ISG). *BUDAPEST is still the only purebred Shagya-Arabian stallion to receive USDF All-Breed recognition today in the USA. Budapest Career by Huber

The *BUDAPEST Legacy continues today with almost 100 progeny reaching new performance milestones every day. While we are a small farm our horses have brought home an Arabian Horse Association National Championship along with National Top Ten recognitions. Both Shagya-Arabian registries in the USA have repeatedly recognized *BUDAPEST as the Meritorious Sire of the Year.

We have been fortunate to lease the Shagya-Arabian stallion *Max, owned by Dr. Eric Nelson, to compliment the WineGlass mares. *MAX brings the elegant Gazal sire line to the farm along with his impressive performance record. With over 1,000 miles of endurance competition and a high scoring German time vs miles formula, *MAX is one of the most significant Shagya-Arabian stallions in the US. He also has a proven kind and calm disposition, so important for any versatile horse casual trail riding to serious competition.

Always striving for improvement WineGlass Farm has made one of the biggest importations in decades of new genetics for the US Shagya-Arabian breed. Frozen semen from four outstanding European stallions is now in the US. The purebred Arabian Russian racing stallion PAGUR, approved for Shagya-Arabian, Austrian WB, Arabian, Trakehner and German Sporthorse breeding, is an exciting importation for WineGlass farms and for numerous North American sporthorse breeding programs. The dynamic Shagya-Arabian stallion DARTAN offers completely new Shagya-Arabian genetics to the US & Canada in addition to an excellent sporthorse choice for Arabian, Thoroughbred or other sporthorse mares. The charismatic Shagya-Arabian stallion SALAZAR S is a European showman, performing in theatrical Hungarian Hussar reenactments in full costume with swords blazing. Rounding out the importation is the elegant Shagya-Arabian stallion KUHAYLAN ZAID 111, one of the few stallions in the world with the historical KUHAYLAN ZAID sire line.

Pedigrees and inspection results for WineGlass horses are documented on the Performance Shagya-Arabian Registry (PShR) website at www.performanceshagyaregistry.org.
