*MAX is the perfect example of great disposition found in the Shagya-Arabian breed. He is kind, he is willing to work and he is very trainable. WineGlass Farm has had the opportunity to lease *MAX several summers since he has retired from competition. He runs with a small band of mares and is a complete gentleman. Some stallions get very territorial and do not want mares to come and go from the band. *MAX is agreeable and he can even be haltered and pulled away from the band. We are very excited about the foals we have at WineGlass sired by *MAX and appreciate Dr Nelson allowing *MAX to come to summer camp at WineGlass Farm!

The parents of *MAX were imported to Canada when the Urs Stelli family moved from Switzerland.

The sire of *MAX is the German bred *Amurath Samurai with a Gazal sire-line. *Amurath Samurai was licensed in Germany at the 100-day performance test. The sire of *Amurath Samurai was the German Shagya-Arabian Navarra who is found is in the pedigree of numerous successful Shagya-Arabian competitors.

The dam of *Amurath Samurai is Amurath Sadika, a daughter of the black, Egyptian, purebred Arabian stallion Gharib. Gharib is a son of the purebred Arabian stallion Anter. Gharib was known as the black pearl of Marbach, Germany. After a long period of grey Nazeer sons (Ghazal, Hadban Enzahi and Kaisoon) Marbach imported this Nazeer-free, black stallion from Egypt. Gharib was not only used at Marbach but also had influence on private Arabian and Warmblood breeding programs.

The dam of *MAX is the mare *Kornelia, bred in Denmark by the famous Ulla Nyegaard of Barthahus Stud. Ulla Nyegaard, the breeder of *BUDAPEST, had a very positive influence on the Shagya-Arabian breed throughout Europe. *Kornelia, by Koheilan X, is of the famous Koheilan I/Koheilian Adjuze db, 1902, sire-line. The dam of *Kornelia is 56 Shagieh with a lovely blend of Shagya and Gazal bloodlines.

*MAX carries a high percentage of Shagya -Arabian bloodlines, bringing only one purebred Arabian to his progeny. This percentage is very important in the USA as several mares have a high percentage of Arabian in their pedigrees and need a Shagya-Arabian dominated pedigree for their progeny.
